Scaling Up the Deployment of Advanced Access: A Way Out of Crisis.
Making patient access to clinical practices efficient is the
source of excess capacity for the whole system of care. This is the firm
conviction at Health Partners in Minneapolis and Jönköping County
Council, Sweden. Moving to advanced access improves profitability,
improves patient and physician satisfaction and very importantly it
opens capacity for improving other intractable problems. Somewhat
unexpectedly it also opens up access to emergency departments, hospital
wards, and specialty clinics. My conclusions are that the two really
important success factors are good leadership in each organization and
starting with advanced access. Whatcom County physicians have the
benefit of Catherine Tantau's assistance in Advance Access initiatives.
She is one of the most experienced and successful coaches in the world.
Here are a couple links. I will quickly expand this orientation and add
more useful materials and links.
