I've been meaning to post this interesting article for a while: http://www.noetic.org/ions/publications/r60Denney.htm The author writes that we are stuck in what he calls "Era I" healthcare and calls for advances to move toward "Era II" and, even further down the road, "Era III". This call sounds similiar to P2's vision of moving from the "Old World" of healthcare to the "New World", but the paradigm shift this guy calls for is far more radical!
He frames his essay in quantum physics - a physical reality that doesn't adhere to our Newtonian notions of cause-and-effect. The way mainstream healthcare works now is that a person is like a car: when something breaks we open the hood and fix the mechanics. We are skeptical of alternative healing arts that address the state of the mind and spirit and try to measure and prove/disprove the effectiveness of alternative interventions by applying our old 17th-century scientific methods.
How does our new vision of healthcare view alternative healing? Are we satisfied with maintaining the mind-body division in healthcare and forcing patients to build their own holistic regimens? How many patients are activated to this level?
