> Update from England on Pursuing Perfection

British National Health Service Magazine features article on Pursuing Perfection in England.
In a related article they say, "It is amazing how the mapping of care processes across organizational boundaries is fundamental to quality improvement."

> Jack Silversin's Five Conversations for Cooperation in Pursuing Perfection

Jack Silversin is a highly regarded consultant who has helped groups in this county, as well as others we know, develop into the organizations they sought to be. Here is his listing of  "Five Conversations that Build Cooperation."  He developed these for Pursuing Perfection more than a year ago. They still seem timely to me.

Screening: Diabehttp://www.ahrq.gov/clinic/uspstf/uspsdiab.htm tes Mellitus, Adult Type II.
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force
recommended yesterday  that adults with high blood pressure or high cholesterol be screened for type 2 diabetes.  It concluded that further research is needed on whether widespread screening of the general adult population would improve health outcomes. The task force also found insufficient evidence to recommend for or against routine screening for gestational diabetes in asymptomatic pregnant women.

> What caterpillar in it's right mind...

In my first post into the category of Transformation, I must say that I am deeply skeptical that leadership as we currently understand it has much to do with transformation. What caterpillar has ever planned to enter a cocoon to come out as only God knows what? Who will lead their organizations into the radical process of transformation?
Learning about organizational and community transformation is essential if we are to bridge the chasm between the quality of care patients could have and what they currently do have.
Transformed mental models may need to precede any organizational planning for transformational change. This is a true opportunity for exploration and learning.
